Protein Rich Foods For Child Nutrition
Most parents worry about their kids not having enough proteins in their foods, simply because they dislike meat. Instead, they should be worrying about iron rich foods, potassium rich foods and calcium rich food. These are the kinds of foods that children mostly do not get enough of. It can come as an assurance that according to nutritionists and pediatrics, there is so much protein availability in the foods that we eat that sometimes we end up consuming more than we need. Remember, only about 15% of the calories in your body are supposed to be obtained from proteins. The remaining should come from carbohydrate and fats.
Protein requirements in the body are determined by the age and the weight of the child. The protein requirement is also influenced by the quality of proteins that your child eats and how the ease at which it is digestible. Generally, animal products such as milk, meat and eggs are considered digestible and are of a higher quality than other plant diets that provide proteins.

As long as you will be able to vary the type of protein that your child eats you will not have much to worry about. As much as your child might be eating protein that is mostly from plants sources, you will be able to get the required amount of proteins in your child’s diet. How? Try as much as you can to pair them. For example, by eating legumes and grains at a single meal, you will be giving them foods rich in protein and the right amount of proteins that they need.

- Lean meat, poultry and Fish.
- Peanut butter
- Soy milk.
It is also advisable that parents buy supplements, in addition to having foods that are high protein foods. Protein fortified drinks and mixes can work.
